Find ideas and innovative material for your lessons.
One of the greatest posibilities that Internet provides nowadays, is the accesibility to resources for the classroom, which are only one "click" away.
Below you'll find a list of useful links and a brief descriptions of their content.
→🎬 Movie Segments to Assess Grammar Goals
This blog offers movie segments from original movies in English, and a set of proporsed activities for each segment. The segments are classified according to grammar topics and groups. Activities can be downloaded for free and printed.
I personlly use to adapt and surround them by other tasks (pre, while and after watching) so as to ensure a more complete, communicative, meaningful and engaging activity.
→📚British Council Kids
this is a web site with varied resources for the classroom and HW. There might be a disadvantage here, and it is the fact that the site is posted in Spanish, because ir oriented to parents as well, with the assumption that not all parents know English. Bearing in mind that the approach we follow implies having L2 input, this may interfere in the teaching/learning process. So I strongly suggest to analize who, how and where will use this resource.
This site is organized according to skills and areas of study. There's a lot of material and all you have to do is go over the site and select the activities according to your needs.
→💻English 4 Kids
In this web site you'll find, organized by topics, lists of links to web sites and blogs to help you find whatever you need for your lesson.
It is extremely important to verify the resources you find by following those links, since them appearing in the list doesn't not by any change assures that the content of the web sites you're taken to, is good quality o even correct.
Using material you find "searching the net" is strictly under the teacher's criteria and responsibility.
→📖Oxford Owl Online Reading
This web site offers the chance to register and gain access to original and authentic reading material. It's organized under different criteria (level of reader, age, topic) y it allows online reading mainly, but also e-books download.
This is a great opportunity for us to expose our students to authentic learning material in the L2, and if you have them access the web site, there's the extra motivation of making them participate with a more active role, and showing their ICT skills.
⇢🎒Teachers Pay Teachers
This is a web site for resources buying, selling and exchanging. It has a great search engine and an enormous archive, a sage payment system and lots of free resources.
All the material you get from this web site has been developed by teachers and, some of it has been designed by professional graphic designers, so there's a great chance that you'll get good quality material, both educationally and in design. However, I need to insist in responsibility we have, as teachers, of verifying and studying the content, quality and accurateness exhaustively.
→My own work as a teacher
In this blog, you can see some examples of my work. Lesson plans, materiales created or adapted by me to meet my philophy and needs as a teacher.
